I am re-gearing my 1999 TJ. Front end completed and moving to rear.
Before I starting to drive out the roll pin in the carrier, I have noticed the hubs have a hole to access bolts. Is this not for a retaining plate to hold the axle? Is it possible it does not have C clips?
I would love to not have to get that roll pin out.
Picture attached.

Post a photo of that axle's differential cover. Maybe it's a Dana 44?

So getting back to your question no you don't have any c clips you have a retainer plate

I took a picture of the diff cover.
I reviewed the build sheet and it appears it originally had a Dana 35, so I don’t feel as foolish.
If yall can look at the cover for final confirmation before I order more parts, it’s appreciated.
