Polished aluminum Pro Comp 1069s. One of only few period correct wheels I like. A set of bead locks would be wicked cool, but for my use case they aren't a responsible decision nor are they necessary. The only wheel I would purchase to replace what I have are a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II Faux bead locks, but they are long unobtainable.

I've gotten really proficient at polishing the wheels, but have grown tired of the once-a-quarter endeavor. I either suck it up, and continue with the polishing or for $125 a wheel I have them professionally polished and powered coated clear.

Anyone have experience with and able to offer feedback on this process? Manage my expectations please...

I’ve had many, many polished and clear coated aluminum wheels. For me, where I live, I’d suck it up and polish. The clear coat looks good, until it starts to lift, the brake dust gets behind it and trashes the aluminum. Now your quick quarterly polish touch up becomes hours and hours of work to restore the shine and eliminate the pits.

My name is Mike, and I live in the rust belt.

Pro Comp 1069s

Buy another set of Procomp 1069’s and tires. Wheel with the old ones and swap for daily with the new ones. Thats essentially what I’m doin with my beadlocks (wheelin months) and non-beadlocks (non-wheelin months).
