Went up this weekend and ran the Deer Valley trail. We staged and camped at Lower blue lakes and the trail entrance is in the campground.

The trail is a blast, it has a little bit of everything between water crossings , rocks and a little mud. It goes between 7000 and 8200 feet and has some really great views.

Nice pictures! Wow looks real crowded, that’s what I love about the Sierras in the Fall. Did you run it through and back or one way and back on the road? I’ve been about halfway on quads before but didn’t have the fuel to go through and back.

We went one way , and took the road through Markleeville back to camp. Which is a whole other amazing drive

It would be a great trail on quads it took me about 5 hours to do the trail , but we took our time and stopped a lot to explore the area.

Oh yea the highway back has a lot nice tight turns. I normally do this trail once or twice a year as I have second home in Arnold, but this year has not been a normal year. My wife was diagnosed with Cancer so its been a shitty year of Chemo and Rad. I am hoping to do the trail before the snow comes, I was so happy to see it back opened up last year after being closed for a few years. Great pictures and nice jeep

yea i have been wanting to do it for years. My family has a cabin in Pollock Pines so I do Strawberry pass often but this was the first time for Deer valley. When i saw it was back open i wanted to run it so now i know Strawberry pass and Deer valley can be run in a day , then camp a night and do Slickrock.

Im sorry to hear about your wife, but hopefully you can get out soon and enjoy it before the Snow hits. It would work perfect with your house in Arnold as camping is kinda cold this time of year. It got down to 28 overnight at Blue Lakes

Awesome pictures. I was hoping to sneak a run in on deer valley before they close it this year with the new Jeep. But think I am gonna have to wait until next year.

My family has a cabin about 30 minutes from the slickrock trail head in tamarack. So planning to make up for it next year!

Thanks for sharing looked like a awesome trip.

That would be a pretty cool run.
