Did Dana 35s originally come with Timken bearings?

In this whole debacle with my rear end imploding, I seemingly glanced over something that makes me wonder. When I opened the diff up and removed everything, the bearings were buttery smooth in every way. I figured everything was original, but I also remember seeing that they're all Timken bearings and I cannot find out whether or not they were a manufacturer for Chrysler. If not, then my rear diff has been serviced in the past and I'm going to need to confirm the gear ratio by counting teeth. I am the 6th owner afterall, so I have no idea what POs did to this thing in the last 14 years.

So, were Timken bearings used in Dana 35s originally?

Probably. Maybe. Sure, why not 😁

Timken were widely used by OE manufacturers of US vehicles. Koyo and SKB by foreign manufacturers. Dana-Spicer gear sets came with Timken if ordered as a kit.

They were most likely Koyo and Timken. Koyo is the largest bearing supplier to the automotive OEM. Spicer uses bearings from both depending on application and pricing contracts.
