Did I mess up this ZJ steering conversion?

Approximately 25 years ago I had the same situation on a '98 XJ I owned when I installed the Currie Currectlync.
The zerk was positioned on the back of the TRE and my solution was to install a low profile (belly button) zerk for clearance.
In recent years Currie has redesigned the TRE that connects between the tie rod and drag link positioning the zerk fitting on the outer circumference of the TRE.

Picked up the new correct steering kit yesterday, slapped it on after work, went on easy peezy. New problem though...

When initially turning the wheel clockwise from any starting point, it feels like there's something fighting it, and it won't turn. A few quick snaps of the steering wheel, and it's fine and will turn freely, until I turn left again, then the problem resets.

Nothing is bound up on the linkage that I installed, I think that when I separated the pittman from the from the drag link, something got messed up because it took a few solid swings of the hammer on the separator to separate them.

I ran out out of daylight to diagnose the issue, but I'm going to disconnect the pittman from the drag link, cycle the steering wheel to see if the problem is still there, to narrow down whether or not it's in the linkage or the gearbox.

Ensure you count how many turns you cycle the steering wheel in both directions to ensure the orientation is correct when you reattach the TRE.
This will ensure the steering is centered and the steering can move same amount in both directions.

That part I nailed. When I put it a back together, I measured the toe, and it was identical.
