Dj5 for sale cheap. Thumbs up or down?

Has anyone ever had any desire to restore a dj5? Can they even be made street legal now?
Anything good? Anything bad?
I've been seeing them very cheap, and i like the idea of having a dj5 with a sliding door as an overland rig, but don't know it it's even remotely worth the hassle

From the couple of listings ive seen, they look like old mail jeeps.

Yes sir, DJ-5 stands for Delivery/Dispatch Jeep.

There have been quite a few DJ builds over the years, some complete restorations and others wildly modded.
Some look really good, others....not so much..
