The suggestion to add 2.5” to OEM link length was a really good rough estimate.

I saw this happen to two vehicles on the Rubicon trail last year... the first caught it quickly and resolved it, the second didn't catch it, ended up bending their links if I recall.Has there been a report of this? I am honestly just curious about the damage done when it happened.
