Found another LJ to look at and was hoping some expert eyes would take a look. I see some light overspray. The water pump, valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket were replaced under 50k and there may be a minor rear seal leak. It was in a minor accident a while back with frontal damage. Thanks in advance!

Some of that "rust" might be red clay. The frame looks good on the outside. Put a finger in each hole and feel the bottom of the frame. A little sand isn't bad, but crusty rusty flakes is bad.

It has a transfer case skid drop. That's usually not needed on an LJ unless it's lifted several inches.

That frame has been rattle canned with black paint (you can tell by the overspray). Be sure to thoroughly check it for rust.

That's weird. I just got a yellow Jeep and it's leaking in the same place as this one. Maybe I should have held out for a red one. :)

I'm not a Jeep expert but I live in Michigan so I have some experience with rusty stuff. FWIW, I see more dirt than rust in those pictures.

My opinion- scope the frame.

- if you buy it have some money for body mount bushings (they are cracked) , control arm bushings, sway bar links, etc- it appears to he stock and nothing has been replaced- and you know it is at least 17 years old. It likely needs serviced and steering parts and some minor things like most of them do at this stage.
