Does the gear shifter on a 2003 TJ automatic light up?

2003 TJ automatic. Does the gear shift with light up ?

I replaced my dash with one from an automatic. It no longer has a shift lamp that lights up. Could be a bad bulb in the used dash too I suppose.

Yes ma’am! There’s a light bulb under the bezel that lights them up.

Mine was shot too and it didn't light up either. I replaced it with an LED one of these and now its bright as ever.

Like @Haaris Khan says an LED in that socket is a great upgrade, the stock bulb is way too dim.

Mr Blaine recommended that bulb as a great spot for “light on “ feed for powering a new switch panel supporting air compressor/lockers. I was unaware there was a light bulb behind the panel, as it had never worked in the 11 years of my ownership!
Double plus for me as it worked like a charm.

After 9 years of ownership, I just recently noticed how hot the switches, heat controls, and dash get from the light bulbs.
Almost makes me think about getting LEDs.
