Ok so I pulled the dash for the heater core and in the process I destroyed the passenger door switch .. and not only the replaceable button part . It destroyed the rest of it, like it's just the 2 wires hanging ... is this part obtainable or is this a salvage item..

A few suggestions...

Pretty sure I still have the two stock door pins someplace in my parts shed. You're welcome to one or both if it will help. That would be the cheap route.

I used these small pin switches when I did the lighting in the tailgate. Simple and effective, though not stock by any stretch.

I removed the front door pins in favor of the Mercedes Interior Light switch which defeats the interior lights when you pull the door pin out. Easy to wire in but it looks like the price has skyrocketed. I paid $8 each when I did this mod a few years back. And you need to source a new thumb screw to install them, which I 3D printed. I'm sure I bought spares of both the door switch and the thumb screws.

I replaced both of mine with the above ones from O'Reilly.

If you also destroyed the plug, go to a junk yard and cut them off a TJ, then wire them in to your wire harness.

Had a brain fart and checked my old dash harness but alas it must be part of the body harness as it's a door switch not a dash switch

Are you talking about the switch between the door jamb that turns the interior lights on and off? And what year is your TJ? I can't imagine that this switch is the same from 97-06.
