Join the club, sometimes mine fixes itself, most times I have to tap horn or flip hazard switch rapidly. I have replaced the gauge cluster connectors and did some voltage/ground tests. Intermittents like this are a pain in the ass to diagnose.
My 98 Sport will do this sometimes after a sharp bump. The temporary fix is a slap to the top of the gauge cluster. I am going to clean and reseat the connectors and hopefully that will fix it once and for all.
