So our 01 Sport with the 4l has been throwing engine codes for the emissions system. I've thrown a few parts at it such as a fuel cap that was supposed to be correct and a dorman 310-260 Evap leak detection Pump filter and a Evap Vapor Canister purge solenoid valve.
Codes still persist. I believe they are small and large leak codes. I believe the codes I had last were P0442, P0455 and P0456. In any case, just had her in the shop for something else and asked them to check this out as well. They say the small leak is likely the fuel cap and to replace with OEM. Then they also said the leak detection pump needs replaced.
What are you all finding that works well? I see Mopar parts has a fuel filler cap - Mopar 52100552AH. Is that the sure way to go? They say the cap on there now doesn't seat fully, it just twists and clicks and twists and clicks. To be honest, I thought that's how it was supposed to work. The one on my 12 yukon does that and it's all factory.
What about the leak deetection pump? I don't see it on mopar parts. The shop quoted about $300 for the part and I see them online from about $60 on up. Correction after another google search I see one that IS supposed to fit on MoparOEMPartsOutlet.com for about $238. Part 4891413AD. I also see one at Partsgeek for $81 and one at ExtremeTerrain for $154. What gives and what route should I go and should that solve the issue? That's what the shop will throw at it?!
