Engine Click Every 5 Seconds

I started the engine (4.0) earlier today and heard this sort of “click” sound every 5-6 seconds. It clicks once, 5-6 seconds pass, then it clicks again, 5-6 seconds pass, clicks again etc….

Sounds like it’s coming from the front of the engine.

I don’t know if it’s related but we had a LOT of rain here in a Phoenix yesterday. I’m sure things were pretty wet in the engine bay.

Any thoughts on what this can be? Please help.

My only guess is the AC clutch activation. But the video doesn't give a clear picture of it

I hear the same click but only when AC is on. Maybe this explains it.

Yes, it's definitely AC related. Just not sure what's going on. Read some other threads about this being caused by low refrigerant. Will check that. Thank you.

That sounds normal, its your AC compressor turning on and off. Not sure how it works but I know that the compressor cycles every 5-8 seconds or so
