Hello everyone!
My name is Jordan and I've been a TJ owner for 12 years now. I've been browsing this forum anonymously for many years now because you guys have great information and resources regarding Jeeps. My current TJ is a 2005 X Automatic with a 4.0. I've been having issues with the 02 sensors, the transmission, and the PCM. wranglerfix has already replaced my PCM with a new one (tested and working), so I've narrowed down my current problem to the engine wiring harness that connects to the transmission. there is at least one wire partially exposed in the wiring harness where it goes under the firewall. so my plan is to pull the entire engine harness and replace the wires/tape/loom with new stuff. I can disconnect the harness everywhere in the engine bay no problem, but I can't access the back end under the floor where it meets the transmission. there is a metal plate under the carpet surrounding the automatic gear shift that can be removed I think to access it, but I don't want to damage the shifter. can anyone help me figure out how to remove this wiring harness to repair it?

*including picture of the access panel on the floor. is it possible to remove this easily to access wiring?

I've been able to disconnect the bank 2 #2 02 sensor from below on the left side. If you disconnect everything on top then go for the rear back 02 sensor might be able to get your hand on the connector. The right side trans connection can be a challenge. You also would have to drop the fuel tank or skinny long arms to reach the fuel pump connection. I would also mark the #1 &2 fuel injector plugs as they can be installed in the wrong spot. Have fun
