I’m looking for an engine wiring harness for a 2002 4.0 Wrangler with an automatic transmission. Does anyone have any idea where I might find one?

Painless probably sells it, but a junkyard or somebody on marketplace parting one out is going to be your best bet. IDK where you're at in TX, but TJ's show up in junkyards every so often, but you have to move fast (to beat me there).

When I was looking for one I found mine on Ebay. Just make sure you get one that matches your year and options. The other place you can try is car-part.com which is a used parts listing of junk yards.
The other option is to reach out to some of the Jeep dismantlers and see if any of them have one.

I think part of the reason no major company is making ready made TJ harnesses is inaccurate factory wiring diagrams and many many variations sometimes within a year of colors and pin outs.

If I needed a harness I'd lay out my original and use it to make a replacement. Wire by wire, pin by pin, splice by splice.

I would love to do this except my Jeep is my only transportation and I still have to be able to get in to work.

I would hate to do that. It's enough trouble just to fix a few wires on one harness, much worse to build an entire harness. It would take hundreds of hours, maybe thousands.

What is wrong with your current wiring harness? Why do you want to replace the whole harness?

I guess it's a peace of mind thing. I've gotten the CEL popping then clearing for the downstream O2 sensor twice since I unplugged the battery for the blower motor and I can't get rid of the suspicion that there's some dumb place in the wiring harness where it's causing a problem.

Are you sure it isn't the O2 sensor itself? Or the plug wiring on the sensor? I just had the upstream O2 go bad in my truck and it was the wires.

One of the big reason is connectors, to source good connectors is difficult and would cost a ton of money

I just bought the underhood fusebox and harness from Mr. Complete Jeep. They are in Memphis. It's a two man operation and it took a few days for them to pull it but I have been searching for three weeks for this harness and they made it happen. Ask for Louis. 901-452-9090. He says they have two hundred Jeeps.
