So I now have this 2005 wrangler. I purchased it stock from my uncle around 4 months ago. This is my third Jeep. I decided to get this to go play around at hidden falls which is about 30 minutes from my house. I never had the luxury of having a off road park down the road from me before so I am super excited!
To start I ended up getting a 4.25 inch zone combo lift. I installed the suspension lift and the mml and the body lift all in one weekend by myself. I don’t recommend doing that. Looking back at it I should have spaced it over two weekends because I had a lot of rusty hardware to deal with. I have some vibrations I have to still deal with. With me and a extra 200 pounds in the Jeep it doesn’t seem to vibrate.
I got steel wheels and procomp mt2 tires because they where really cheap!
Ended up purchasing some bonefish sliders that I don’t really like now but they will probably stay on.
I raptor lined the inside of the Jeep over one weekend. That looks really good and is holding up well.
I Found the front bumper on Craigslist used. It was made by this company shrockworks. I really like the look of that and it has some super durable d ring hoops on it which will probably be helpful later.
The rugged ridge winch I couldn’t pass up on. It was priced really good over the holiday and it came with recovery gear which is awesome because this is my first winch so I went from having nothing to bring some what Prepared.
I ordered some led headlights I will be installing soon. I also have the savvy transfer case shifter I will be installing.
Things that I think I will do in the future is a heater core. I can smell coolant when the heat is on. As well as a rear main and oil pan.
I would also like to build the axles and possibly regear
And do a selectable locker
In the rear.
I think I will be shopping for control arms soon too and maybe do a sye and tummy tuck at some point down the road. But for now I’m just going to get out there and enjoy it!
