I just lost my low beams, but my parking lights, turn signals, high beams, emergency flashes, brake lights, and license plate light all work. What happened?
I was dealing with an instrument cluster that wasn't working. I rewired that with a brand new twisted pair of wiring from the PCM to the gauge cluster. Now it works. The only wires I cut/changed anywhere were the feed from PCM to cluster. Nothing else. Fix that, and then I had a brake issue where it pulled really hard to the left. The front left was sticking, and even when not on the brakes, it was still squeezing the rotor. The front brakes were bad anyways, so I did pads, rotors, and calipers. That didn't resolve it, but then I noticed that the passenger rear was leaking from the wheel cylinder. So much so that it soaked the shoes and wasn't braking. This caused the drivers side to overcompensate and brake harder, leading it to heat up and stick. Replaced the wheel cylinder and the brakes are great. Also replace the TPS to fix a stalling issue. Drove it last night and now the low beams aren't working. No idea why. The horn also was not working since I bought it. Took the clock spring out and found that was bad. I replaced the clock spring and that fixed the horn.....until it didn't. 20 minutes after installing it, while being across the house from the garage, suddenly the horn started blaring on its own. Don't know what trigged it into going off with nobody touching it, but I had to go pull the relay to get it to stop.
Headlights have not had any issues since I installed them months ago. They're aftermarket LED. I also replaced the ignition switch, actuator, and multifunction switch while I had everything torn apart previously to address separate issues. Now there's a new clock spring. Everything is new, and everything worked perfectly. It was only after rewiring the instrument cluster and clock spring that replacement that this started happening. But neither the clock spring or instrument cluster are on the same electrical path/circuit as the headlights. So why on earth are the low beams suddenly not working after working perfectly for months and 100+ miles?
