Experience with Rock Krawler 2 inch Lift Kit

A dropped pitman arm and relocation mount combined cancel each other out , and are prone to noises at the frame end. I know first hand.

They are typically part of a manufactur’s lift line to get rigs up to 6”, so become sort of a “do all” offering.

This has confused the market...shops, mechanics and end users, in thinking they must be an important part of the equation.

What is important is track bar length to maintain proper axle center, stability by the track bar , and the track bar and drag link being close to parallel ...to my knowledge. And bushing quality and torque of the assembly.

It is thought that less track bar angle means less bump steer , but that seems to end up being the opposite on most TJs with a dropped arm and no dropped mount.

This is based on my limited understanding, so please take it that way.

I've never seen a bracket that raises the front trackbar before. I'm actually interested to see what they are doing here. We raise the rear all the time. But the front is usually left alone.

Raising the axle side drag link end to match would take some effort. ;)

Personally, I wouldn't use them again. They were far more trouble than I expected and I ended up having to buy all the components that their kit didn't include. When i thought I was saving money, it ended up costing me that I expected. Additionally, I didn't initially notice it, but they had sent me two different height front coils. It was only after installation that I realized the TJ had a definite lean. This entailed dealing with them on the phone, getting new coils sent and having to do the de-installation and re-installation all over again. By the way, I dislike their bumps stop solution too, it was a bitch to install and a bitch to deal with when I had to re-install the correct size shocks.

My experience may be a one off, but I am a dealer that sells their products, and I can't really recommend them.

Bob. Thanks for your honest feedback. I'll keep looking for alternatives.

My purpose is to run 31-33" x 10.50" tires. Mostly highway miles with moderate trail travel. No rock crawling (ok maybe a little). Nothing serious.

What's your opinion of this https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/rancho-2-5-inch-sport-lift-system-rs6503b/_/R-BCKM-RS6503B with https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/rancho-rs9000xl-series-shock-absorber-rs999256/_/R-BCKM-RS999256 and https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/rancho-rs9000xl-series-shock-absorber-rs999255/_/R-BCKM-RS999255.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm really trying to stay close to the $!000-$1200 price range.

Thanks again.

31” to 33” is quite a jump. Decide first what size tire you want to run, not what size tire you think you ‘might’ run. Once you figure out for certain, then we can be of better help 👍
