I’m sure this is going to be odd, but does anyone know where I could get a factory door mirror glass replacement? WITH the Chrysler Jeep logo on the top?

I ordered the mirror assembly for my passenger side (broke the glass on my factory assembly) and.. this one looks a lot crappier than it did in the pictures. I’d have to strip this one down and paint it, and of course do my drivers side as well. And I’d rather not.

All of the aftermarket ones don’t have the Jeep logo. I’m assuming there aren’t any NOS mirror glass anywhere, but figured I’d see if anyone else has gotten lucky and found some.

Just the passenger! But see if you want to get rid of both, I’m not opposed to just having them lol

I'll be home tomorrow. Will check for you. Pretty sure I have two compete sets from the two sets of half doors I just bought.

I don't use the OE mirrors on my full doors either.

I ordered some new side mirrors for mine. They kept falling down on the road, and they look almost original, except that logo. My new ones stay put too.

Lol I get that, but I just like to see it. It’s a nostalgia thing I guess.
I totally get the period correct approach. I am much the same. The mirrors were an exception for me because I got tired of having to deal with swapping mirrors when taking the doors off. I use a set of round CJ style mirrors permanently mounted to the A-pillar.

Something about the design of the big blocky mirrors get me. The Daimler- Chrysler Pentastar and JEEP beside it just add to it. It isn’t old school, but I guess something close to it for me. Kind of like seeing a factory owners manual or a magazine with an old car ad.

I’m not a huge fan of the visibility with the A-pillar mounted mirrors. When I go doors off, I have some motorcycle spot mirrors that bolt into my hinges. No vibrations, and they actually give good visual for being tiny.

I had to shave a little around the stem of them so they would slide in, but took all of 5 minutes and they’re great lol

I do like the look of the stock mirrors but as I mentioned hated having to swap in mirrors for doors off. Plus having the mirrors on the doors makes them a little more difficult to store when they are off.. less "stackable".

I switched to the A-Pillar mounted mirrors was back on my second JK. It was a progression. First set sucked. Vibrated all over. Stuck out way too far and generally ugly. I made some brackets to mount to the a-pillar and it helped with the vibration.

Later I switched to a rectangular convex wide angle truckers auxiliary mirror. At first the wide angle makes your head spin but soon I found it was far better than the stock mirrors and when combined with the adjustable arms solved any issues with visibility regardless of being doors off, full doors or softies on the half doors. I can see a really wide field of view behind me and parking lines are easy too.

Then I switched to a round mirror with a slightly wider field of view primarily because the rectangular mirrors were not period correct. The wider field of view allowed me to shorten the arms without having any issues with a-pillar visibility even with the plastic wind deflectors installed to keep water off me when the windows are cracked. The combination of the wide angle, short arms and an off-set mounting stud on the mirror work great together for positioning.

If there is any downside it is that the wide angle makes it a bit challenging to judge distance behind me but it's something I've gotten used to.

Here's one passenger side I had in the garage. Not perfect but it has the logo. A little sanding and a quick coat of trim black and you're in business

I definitely have another set in the shop that I think I refinished when they were on my jeep a while back. Will try to get in there later.

These mirrors actually look sweet! I’m generally not a fan of these type mirrors, but they look awesome on your Jeep.

Man that mirror looks perfect to me. See if you can find the other, but if not I’d definitely buy that one off of you. Or the pair of the refinished ones. Either way!

Might want to contact the folks that make Jeep logos and graphics out of vinyl... betcha they might be interested in reproducing the mirror graphics.

I have both of mine on my Jeep if you need more reference material.

I'll check.. no worries.

I had the other set on for only a short time before rebuilding the doors-off mirrors and I remember taking them off, sanding them and painting with SEM trim black.

Stay tuned.

This set was original to my TJ. They have been in a parts bin for a few years but they look pretty darn nice. I think I used Rustoleum two part black rattle can in satin black.
