Sorry to bust your bubble. In a month or so it will be back. Take them off and use some bumper paint.

This is one of the lighter models at 1200 watts. I believe there's 1500 and 1800 as well.
I quickly learned slower is faster. Making tiny circles about an inch from the surface then slowly moving down the flare works the best to keep the heat up enough to be effective.
 
But when it comes back they will be powdery and it will be a little worse. I did this to my first jeep.

I used that process often over the years when I still had fender flares, it usually lasted at least a year. Then another 15-20 minutes with a heat gun and they were fine again. I paint a lot of things but I'd never bother painting the fender flares when the heat gun process works so well and is so much easier. Not to mention it's free to do.
