Trying to mount my CB and I have a question. My tire carrier has a 3/8's hole for an antennae mount. Do I need to drill that out to 1/2" so that the the shoulder on the fire-ring recesses into the hole?

My fire ring mounting bracket has a 1/2” hole for the nylon shoulder to fit in.
