For all of us with two wheels also

Awesome thread! I am a two wheel junkie also. I've had a bunch of bikes over the years, harleys and sport bikes. Being a retired honda tech, I'm particularly fond of the older hondas, especially the vfr's. I've had 5 vfr's over the years, I currently own two now. A mint condition show room perfect 4th gen, and an immaculate 5th gen. I also have a 2015 Ducati Diavel white star carbon edition with the full Termignoni performance package!

I've liked the VFR's for years. Never got to own or ride one but I still like them and like the way they look.

All of you have some awesome looking bikes and the stories to go a long with them are even better. Sharing this love of two wheels with my daughter just makes it all that much better. She got the love of Jeeps from dad and is now learning to love being on two wheels. As we all know riding one is a lot different than being a passenger and she says she really likes it. Other than the fact that it is hot with all her gear on. It has been too windy out to enjoy riding and she found out a few days ago that riding a lighter bike in the wind is FUN...…….

Keep the dirty side down.

My 2003 Indian Vintage, sold it when it left me stranded for the third time. Great looking but very problematic.....

My wife's 2007 Yamaha Classic, lowered to fit her and custom painted, wish she would ride it more....this is in Daytona Beach on our way back from Key West to Virginia

My current ride as it is now, I love this bike, stage 2 cams, intake and Rush exhaust, it moves well enough for me and the wife, this on our Sturgis trip someplace out by Denver I think.....

Grew up never having dirtbikes, Mom frowned upon motorized things .
Once I was out of the house, I came across a 1985 Honda Saber 700. This was my first.
Fast forward to 1992 and a first bought in New England a Suzuki RF 600 in blue. Looked like a ferrari to me.
Had that for 2 years and winter was coming, I was going to make a million plowing driveways.... Tried to trade the bike for a plow truck and got rejected.
Saddened, I left the dealership and was passed on the highway by a Porsche, I couldn't have that !!! Downshifted and caught up to it. The gentleman driving, looked over to me, floored it and left me like i wasn't there.
The next day I was approved for a 1994 GSXR 1100 (funny how I was rejected on a practical vehicle).
Traded that a few years later and left the 2 wheel world for 21 years.
46 years old and I was looking for a bike, A Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 (one of the fastest modified bikes out here)
or a Harley ( because of the comradery that comes with them)
It found me, a used 2008 Harley V-Rod modified for drag racing with a after market turbo system and electric shifter. That was 4 years ago and I still love it! Harley with Hayabusa acceleration.

Pacosun71, man that V-rod is sweet!! I love the muscle bikes, I was thinking about trading my street glide in for a V-rod but ended up getting the Ducati instead. My Duke with the full Termignoni performance package is throwing down 190 HP and 110 ft.lbs of torque! It's insane! I bet your V-rod is amazing with the turbo kit.

Did some riding last week and when I got home I noticed my rear tire looking a bit odd. Guess I got pretty lucky it had held. I knew they were getting to the point of being replaced but wasn't aware they were this bad! Dropped both front and rear off to my guy yesterday and picking them up tomorrow with a new set of Shinko 777s. The metzlers were all the rage a while back, I bet I only got 9k out of these. A little disappointed.

I currently have two bikes. A 1999 Harley Davidson FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport and a 2015 Harley Davidson FLSTF Fatboy. I bought the FXDX new 20 years ago and the Fatboy used with 900 miles on it at the time of purchase.

Many nice bikes on here. I got my start in the late 60s on a 1965 Ducati Falcon 50 that was part of a lot my Dad got at a police auction for about $15. It was the most complete of the bunch. I got it moving using parts from the other junkers. Moved up to a 1967 Honda CS90 in high school. After getting married, our first house, and first kid, I bought a 1971 Honda CB500. Dumb move with a newborn. Sold it and went without until 2010.
My sister gave me her Chinese 200cc dual sport.

Not a bad bike to start over with but not a good bike, either. Turned out to be a legal nightmare, title-wise. Gave it to a buddy to use on his in laws ranch.
Got a 79 Honda CX500 in 2011 as a rescue. Saved it from being cafe’d.

Here’s the CX with some friends. 1973 and 1977 French Solex mopeds and a 1974 Raleigh Gran Prix. I have a lot of Raleighs.

Now, with three wheels instead of two, 2007 Ural Gear Up. Slow, noisy, crude, and more fun than you are legally allowed to have. A great toy with grandkids.

My roomate rented a 2018 Road Glide and we went on a 250 miler two days ago down to Westcliff and back. Never been a Harley fan but gosh that thing was nice, he could hear the stereo going 90 down the highway! But anyhow, my bike is a Kawasaki Versys 650. Story time on it, it was originally my father's bike, however I was a rebellious youth in high school and used to take it out when he went on business trips... Which eventually led to me laying it down when I hit some gravel and having to purchase it from him... But anyhow, it's a great bike, not great looking but gosh it rides well. Comfy enough for the long haul but sporty enough to carve through these mountain passes. Here's a shot off of Taryall road off of highway 24, probably my favorite road to date:

I've been really wanting to get a KLR 650 but seeing as my jeep is already my offroad vehicle, I don't want it to get jealous  But hey, that's probably why it appeals to me, as both the Tj and the KLR are the jack of all trades, Swiss army knife of their respective classes.

I met with some old friends this summer and we rode up to Pikes Peak. One had a 2019 Street Glide that was all decked out. I could hear his radio from my own bike traveling down the hwy at 80mph. We had a great time until late afternoon when we got caught in a torrential downpour. The last 50 miles or so was very slow going. Riding with them really got me to thinking of trading mine in for a Street Glide, have always wanted one.

2015 Jamis Dakar. Purchased the frame off pinkbike and built with the components I wanted. I wish my TJ was as plush as this thing.

It's two wheels so it works. I'm OLD and FAT now so I don't like to power my own way around. Plus I LOVE the feel of that V-Twin between my legs.

Pictures from my trip to South Dakota in Aug last year. The top picture is from Montana on the Going to the Sun Road thru Glacier National Park and the bottom was a group ride I was with in the Black Hills. That was a once in a life time picture.

I ride a KTM 250 XCW , rode a 300 for years and may be back on one in February. Auto clutches , narrow bars and tight Tennessee woods gets my blood going .

Love the thread , OP your daughter is beautiful and you have my sincere respect.

These things are fun though! Here is a short video we made with some friends back in 2009 when minibikes were a bit more popular. By the way, it's the only time I went to USA, we flew to LA, rented 2 trucks, got some klx110 and spent a few weeks in Temecula, riding in Milestone, Lake Elsinore and a few other places. Then we drove to Las Vegas to participate in the minimotosx and watch the supercross finals, we also had the chance to ride with Mike Metzger in his backyard and met a lot of other cool people! Before leaving we took the bikes apart, boxed everything and sent them home. Good memories:cool:

My crf50 when it was a bit more clean
