Hello. In an obvious future regret I’m looking to sell my 2005 TJ X. I purchased it from a town nearby. The gentleman said it was in the family owned by a grandpa and stored mostly in the barn. His daughter had been driving it a bit in the interim as I gathered the old man had passed. The frame is solid for being in the Midwest (barn storage seems to fit). The fender flares were apparently painted matching Impact Orange prior to my ownership. There is some minor flaking on portions and some more substantial paint chips from gravel travel I assume his daughter conducted (see photos). Below is a complete list of mods I completed on the stock TJ, except tires/wheels (no spare). The tub was glossy orange prior to sound dampening so pretty clear it never had been in substantial rain with the top off. Heat and A/C work flawlessly though I never need to run them.

  • 4 liter 6 cylinder
  • 3.73 rear axle ratio
  • 4 speed automatic
  • Impact Orange
  • 36,205 miles (will go up slightly until winter when it will be garaged)
  • Comes with hard top (see photos)
  • Polk DB 522s in dash and roll bar
  • Sony MEX-GS820BT head unit (includes hand free calling)
  • Kicker CompRT 8” sub in Pioneer slim box in console
  • Kicker 46CXA4001 800W amp under drivers seat (all professionally installed by certified audio tech)
  • Alien grab handles
  • Amazon Basics universal floor mats
  • Noico 80mil sound deadening mat throughout tub
  • Heat/sound absorber mat under hood
  • Rugged Ridge door entry covers
  • Daystar dash platform
  • Matte black vinyl hood decal
  • BedTred installed throughout
  • Bartact black seat covers
  • JK modded head rest on rear bench with Bartact covers
  • Cree LED headlights with black bezels
  • Black grill inserts
  • Easy remove hardtop fasteners (comes with originals
  • Hardtop headliner for sound/heat containment
  • LED lights placed throughout interior
  • 32x11.5R15 tires
I would be happy to answer as many questions as I’m able to. I can take specific photos if you’re looking for them as well!

You’d be better off replacing the flares with new black ones. Awesome color
You’re probably right. It’s the last thing I never got around to. Since it’s more looks than function, it hasn’t been a high priority for me. I figured someone could spend the extra $500-750 to replace them if they felt incline. I may get to it this Spring if I still have it. I’m certainly will to discount that in the selling price as I understand most here would be any that replace.

My wife calls this bright orange "a fun color" vs. the plain colors most of our Jeeps have been over the years. It certainly looks good on this TJ.
