Former / Active Duty Military Members Roll Call

US Army 2001-2008
11B Infantry, SSG
2/3-187 Inf 101st Airborne
Afghanistan Feb-Sep 02/ Iraq 03-04 & 05-06
I was in week 2 of basic training when the planes hit the towers, we all thought the drill sergeants were screwing with us, the next 12 weeks they told us we were all going to die in Afghanistan. Graduated Dec 7, 2001, and was in Afghanistan February 02. Quite an eye-opener, I had been 18 for 5 months when I first touched Afghan soil.
The picture is from the last deployment to Samarra Iraq, the place was like the wild west. If you heard about the golden mosque bombing in 2006, I was right there when it happened. Crazy ass week following that bombing.

I was fortunate to only see time in Bosnia but unfortunate to serve under a President that depleted our budget. Regardless the absolute best time of my life with best friends one could hope for!
Thank you to all my brothers in arms! Enjoyed reading this thread.

Retired USAF Crew Chief, 22 years total. Worked T-38's, F-111's, and 12 years with the A-10 all over the world.
At lest you were not F-15's, way too many 12 hour shifts on those things, but the 7 stages of afterburner was a sight to blur your vision!

TN Army National Guard 81-93. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in Desert Storm. Tried Army, Navy and Air Force. Wouldn't take me because I had asthma. Had to lie to get in the Guard! We do what we can.

Welcome back!
While I was in Vietnam (Brown Water Navy) 1969-70 I requested to go into UDT. They would accept me, but I had to re-up for a year. I didn't want to add another year to my service time so I declined.
Good for you for being in the UDT....Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone who has served this great country of ours!

Retired AVCM USN, 1982-2012.
I've been assigned to 10 different duty stations, deployed to more places than I can remember, but I'll never forget the multitude of dedicated brave men and women that I had the pleasure of working with.
