So, this is a weird situation. Found a 98 wrangler with no title but would make a good parts Jeep pending whatever is actually on it. Good hardtop/wheels/half doors with slider window. Axles?? Not sure, don't even know what model (X, Sport etc.) it is. It's cheap and I could part out and turn a profit but its a weird situation.
I asked for the VIN to check the build sheet and generally not trying to ask a bunch of stupid questions, this was the response.
"It's not a 1967 camero yenko lol. It's a Jeep. 6 cylinder and 5 speed. Got it for daughter 16 birthday. Guy had title signed in his sister name. Was supposed to get me title but she in army over seas. He said having hard time getting her right paper work. I don't have time to wait and he doesn't have the money to return. So stuck with a trail Jeep. Have bill of sale for Jeep from him. Going to take to court but still don't have enough time before her birthday. So trying to sell as trail Jeep no title. Still good deal."
I don't want to title it, just want parts and sell the rest. Seems like a big flag if the "owner" comes home an goes looking for it. But then, if I sell the tub with a VIN, well, crap. Jeep below, because I don't want you know who to give me the "this thread is useless without pictures" line.
The only picture they posted, seems dumb to ask a guy to crawl around the ground and identify stuff for a cheap parts jeep.
Anyone deal with a situation like this?
