Fox shocks for 3.5 inch lift

I currently have front Fox shocks # 985-24-084 on my 06 LJ with a 2.5” Rough Country coil spring lift. Wanting to replace the coil RC springs to 3.5” Have not decided on the replacement. Question,will the current fox shocks work with the upgrade?

No one knows how your current shock sits with current lift, or what 3.5" coil swap will result in.
Fox website provides data on your shock, we have guides on how to properly set up your bump stops to accommodate shock needs.

Those shocks appear to be for 0-2” of lift, so they won’t work with 3.5” of lift (the shocks will limit travel).

You need to know the measurements installed. What's the eye to eye on your rig with the springs? If you're not going to move shock mounts that's going to dictate what you get, ideally balancing travel 50/50

Trying to achieve a 3” lift height. If I decide to leave the current RC Coil springs and but change out the fox shocks for there
3”- 4.5” #980-24-643 shock would that be doable? or will the springs need to be upgraded to reach the lift 3” height ?

Lift height is solely controlled by springs. To increase lift height, you either need new springs or you need to add spacers. Then, you need shocks that are long enough for the new lift height.
