Right as Squarch said regarding the inside. However rhe fact it's been listed for at least 20 day's raises a red flag for me.
LOL It made me laugh! So, yeah...as far as it being listed for so long, remember, it was at $2,000 initially. The seller needs to find a buyer with that kind of cash to spend in one shot, as well as one with the space and knowledge to commit to such a large undertaking. I'm actually not too surprised that it's slow to sell. Still could be a great deal for someone, though.
Says he had it powder coated. If I recall correctly, to do so means there can't be any body filler filling up the pits and such the way you can do when painting. Therefore, I'd be more inclined to want it as a powder coated frame, amongst other reasons.
I'm with you regarding starting with an unmolested frame. However, I have the benefit of living in a region where those are easier to come by than it is for some. It would be easy enough to determine if the innards of a powder coated frame are in good shape, or not, same as you would an unmolested one. So that aspect of it doesn't concern me. However, I would not be in the least bit interested in buying one that had the safety caps installed. I wouldn't have it done, so I wouldn't buy one where it had already been done. I do understand that for some, it is an acceptable and viable option, and I mean no offense to those who elect to go that route. I just know it's not for me.
