Front Driver Side Coil Bowing

Hey guys so I am installing a RC 2.5 inch lift on my 2000 TJ.
Why on earth is the drivers side coil bowing like this (see pics)

I swapped sides and no matter what coil I put in it bows. As you can see the pig tail is in the split. CA’s (bottom) are loosened. And even when I put the tire back on and tighten everything to spec it still bows like you see.

Any ideas?

The passenger side is fine, only the driver side is doing this.

Thanks

Have you put the wheels on and basically loaded the suspension or are you still at the assembly stage

Yes I have and it’s the exact same thing

Have you measured your distance wheel to wheel on each side

Also rough country has good customer service- They will actually take a phone call which these days is considered good

I’ve got paperwork to write him up for starting a duplicate thread- I do it in triplicate to.

Wait wait wait, you’re going to write me up for making a duplicate thread so I can possibly reach others who may not have seen it to help me?

Isn’t this about helping one another?
I can see if I posted the same question 3 times in a few days but come on

I called RC and all they could say was “that’s weird” and once it’s under weight it’ll be ok. None of what it true lol.

If I’m measuring distance wheel to wheel what is the midpoint? Midpoint of axle?

Anywhere- it doesn’t matter- As long as you do it the same on both sides

I would measure tire to tire for instance

I can’t think of any reason why you would have an axle off that dramatically but you’ve got something going on- It almost looks like the spring is too long for the application

I’m laughing my head off- we don’t have a way to “write” anyone up-

I just get on here and act like I’m the sheriff and make up stuff- I’m just a guy with a Jeep and cell phone 🤣🤣

It’s pure self entertainment- I’ve got a complete schtick of junk I’ve made up to amuse myself. My main goal lately is for Chris to fix it so I can “like” my own posts.

Yeah but it doesn’t bow on both sides so I can’t imagine the spring is too long. I swapped sides and it remains only to bow on drivers side
Very frustrating tbh

Yes- there is a cause-

Keep at it - post that measurement- It would take some pretty worn control arm bushings or something to have your axles that misaligned - we can see it is installed correctly

Jouncing in up and and down to relieve bind after install is good to do

Well it is a 22 year old Jeep and everything was original hardware on it. Shocks, coils, end links, calipers etc

Though it only has 56k on it there was some serious dry rot and rust

Why didn't you just bump the thread to the top?

Things can get real serious, real fast when I’m not behind on all my forum responsibilities-

- regearing committee chair 5

- 2nd shift content monitor

- Rubicon historian and all archives

- disciplinary action team lead

-forum aftermarket research team (F.A.R.T.)

- adjunct lieutenant administrator (I don’t know what adjunct means, just always wanted a title with that in it

Makes me tired just thinking about it,
-I’m covered up
