Installed an Iron Rock Offroad 4" lift kit. Came with a front track bar relocation bracket. Instead with supplied bolts but few this is causing death wobble. Was considering welding the bracket instead of the bolts. Thoughts?

Which side was relocated and what was done to the drag link to compliment the change to the track bar?

Driver's side, bracket raised up the adjustable track bar. Drag link was adjusted to correct the steering.

It raised the frame side? That's unusual. If true, you have created bump steer without also raising the drag link at the pitman arm.

FWiW, it is best not to move the track bar mounting locations at all on stock width axles

Looks like the kit also comes with a drop pitman arm. Both the drop pitman arm and relocation bracket need to go. Use your stock pitman arm with a trac bar that uses the stock mounting location.

My apologies, it did not raise the front track bar, the new track bar came with a Heim joint instead of the factor joint. So the bracket is to allow for the new heim
joint the joint

I'm not near my jeep, but this is from the directions.

Be sure to fully cycle the axle without coils by using a floor jack. That's a lot of bulk added to the track bar bracket to not also require extra bump stop extension. That arrangement probably would not work on mine.

My understanding from what folks far better versed in this is that 4" and under you should use the stock trackbar locations and the stock pitman arm to prevent bump steer. I would get an adjustable trackbar and mount it in the stock location. I only have a 2 1/2" lift on my TJ, but I bought the Rough Country 7572 trackbar. It is for up to a 4" lift and is nice and beefy. Fits easily in stock location and is easily adjusted and rebuildable.

Hey Jerry,

Long time listener, first time
Commenter. I appreciate all of your knowledge. I’m going to be running OME 2933/2942 springs with Rancho shocks5239/5241.
Would you recommend an adjustable trackbar in the rear or stock track bar with relocation bracket?

How many inches are those springs?

Those springs only give approximately 2" of suspension lift height so while an adjustable length track bar would be nice to have, it's not required. Your axles won't be perfectly centered after lifting it 2" but neither does it remain perfectly centered while you drive around. They will be centered well enough. For a taller suspension lift height adjustable length track bars are definitely recommended.

A stock bar with a relocation bracket is standard fare for a 2" lift. My OME lift in conjunction with the relocation bracket keeps everything in place for minimal work. Now, if your rear trackbar is completely shot, or you are sticking in 4" springs my advice would be different. But for simplicity and not trying to start a vibe war with the rear driveshaft, I went with just using the bracket.
