Hey guys, hoping I may be able to get some opinions on next steps with my 2005 LJ project. I just finished up doing basically a full restoration on an LJ for my wife and in the process replaced the filler neck and fuel pump while I had the tank out. When I put the tank back in and went to the gas station I found I had an extremely slow fill (which was not the case before pulling the tank). The tank did have the splash back issue and I thought the filler neck would be the fix for that. After the slow fill issue I started digging deeper and found the check valve fix on the inside of the filler neck. Pulled the tank back out and found that valve definitely was stuck, sanded the nubs, and reinstalled everything. Thinking I had found the problem I threw the tank back in and went to the gas station only to find out it still wont accept fuel at more than just a trickle. Did some more digging on the forums and found it could possibly be an issue with the other molded valve in the tank(flow control valve?). Pulled the vent line from the filler neck and found it to be plugged up and blew it out with compressed air and freed it up. I thought this might be the ticket so I threw the tank in the back of my car and ran to the station to test it out... still no fill. At this point I'm wondering if I could have gotten a junk filler neck from rock auto and maybe try to replace that? Maybe blow out the other lines on the tank if possible? I saw something about possibly pulling the other flow control valve apart (passenger side that connects to evap canister) from the inside of the tank but looking at that sure seems like asking to break some old plastic parts. Any tips or tricks would really be appreciated!
