I have the little 2.5 as well but haven't run into the symptoms you've explained above.. Mine fires right up when its warm, takes a longer time to crank when cold and sitting for a while.

Typically that is a sign of a failing fuel pump or regulator bleeding down, as mentioned earlier by Jerry get a fuel pressure test setup and check out your fuel pressures.
I started a new job and my Jeep time has been greatly diminished. I did swap out the coil and have made several short trips with it with no issues other than the reluctant warm start.
I’m planning to swap out the injectors as I’m leaning towards the seals bearing bad or worn out.
