Fumoto oil drain valve doesn't fit my 2003 4.0

I got the Fumoto F101S which says it has 1/2-20 UNF threads. This was what their website said I should get for a 2003 4.0.

Yeah, well it doesn't fit mine. Way too small, doesn't even touch the threads.

So did Fumoto give me bad info? Or should that be the right one? In which case I guess some previous owner stripped it, then enlarged the hole and re-threaded it.
 
Yeah, oil pan crossed my mind too. The plug looks like it belongs there, same flat black finish as the pan and it has a rubber washer.
