This post is mainly for reference so that somebody desperately googling this can find an answer. I literally could not find this information anywhere.
I reached out to Melling regarding their M167HVS high volume oil pump flow rate specifications. They advertise it as being 20% more volume than stock, but they do not list the GPM anywhere, nor could I find the OEM flow rates.
Here is their response:
"The M167HVS will flow at approximately .0067 (gpr) gallons per revolution. Test cell data shows @448rpm pump speed the flow at 3.0 GPM."
Note that pump RPM is 1/2 engine RPM.
Hence a few engine RPM benchmarks:
650 RPM - 2.1 GPM
750 RPM - 2.5 GPM
1000 RPM - 3.4 GPM
1500 RPM - 5.0 GPM
2000 RPM - 6.7 GPM
2500 RPM - 8.4 GPM
3000 RPM - 10.1 GPM
3500 RPM - 11.7 GPM
4000 RPM - 13.4 GPM
4500 RPM - 15.1 GPM
5000 RPM - 16.8 GPM
5250 RPM - 17.6 GPM
The pump relief valve will likely open at some point, so you may not see the highest flow rates.
To get approximate stock flow rates, multiply any of the GPM numbers by 0.833, or divide by 1.2.
