Gear pattern: a different perspective

Well try going a touch deeper and see what happens.

I went .002 deeper. Pinion

Your coast side is definitely in the zone I just wish your drive side had the same look. Try adding another drop of oil to the marking compound and really put some drag on the ring gear and see if we can get a better look at that drive side.

Finally got back at it. Added a little more gear lube to my compound in fact , I may have added a little too much. I marked it 2 different spots this time and applied a lot of pressure as i turned it. A couple of these are the ghost patterns.

This is your front 30 you are working on now? Those show your coast side (drive side of a LP front) a tiny bit deep. For a front that would probably run just fine but if you can pull .001 it would be better.

Alrighty then , back to it this morning. Backlash at 10. Pinion depth at 55. Pinion preload at 13. I think this is the best so far. Im feeling confident.

when installing the screw in wheel studs in revolution axles , should I lock tight them ?
The final torque on the pinion nut when using a crush sleeve eliminator is 150 ftlbs ? It says 150 on the paperwork that they sent , just wanted to verify that it was the final torque.
