Gen III Hemi Swap into TJ Reference Guide & Swap Info

Here's what comes in the Eagle head kit from FRP.

And the 2.0 Hellfire non-VVT cam specs.

So parts are:
Intake manifold gasket set. (I'd forgot to tell Ryan I was using the old style intake)
Exhaust manifold gaskets
Head bolts
Harmonic balancer bolt
Cosmetic head gaskets
Timing cover gasket
Water pump gasket
MDS delete plugs
Cam bolt

Edit: Push rods will be ordered after the length is checked.

What about the heads? And do you need a different exhaust manifold or header?

I bought a pair of heads from Ryan. To run the 03-08 intake you need adapters. A company called MMX sells them along with wiring to run newer style coils.
I bought a pair of Hooker Blackheart headers to try out. I'm hoping they will work.
I'm just waiting for the heads to arrive so I can put the engine together.
The Cometic head gaskets are. 070" thick to lower the compression ratio to just under 11:1 if I remember correctly. The Eagle heads have a smaller chamber? So the 09 and newer 5.7 don't have as high of a dome.
I got the first kit that FRP has sold so I'm the ginnypig.

Yep.. I thought I had the name correct but wasn't 100%.
Did you get the specific Hemi Swap headers or just some generic headers? I know for the LS stuff, Holley/Black heart discontinued all the exhaust bits because of “EPA” is what I heard.

I just got some generic ones. They are the ones mentioned here in this thread.

Here's the intake manifold adapters from MMX.

They are beveled to go from the smaller intake to the larger Eagle heads.

And the adapters for the newer coil on plugs.

Wildman,
Do you have a picture of the intake adapters laying side by side showing each of them turned to a different side/surface for us to visually compare the difference in the ports on each side. It would be easier for me to see the difference if they are side by side as opposed to two different pictures. Thanks in advance.

I'll take one for ya.

It comes with longer cap head bolts and washers also. Their packaging leaves something to be desired. The bag the bolts were in had busted open and they were loose in the box. Luckily none were missing.

You may want to think about bolting the head/header assembly (bolted together) on to the shortblock after the short block is in the Jeep. That’s what I did on my Charger with the factory shorties. Vey easy because of where the header is attached to the head. The header bolts are not easy to get to.
MMX has a very good video on how to correctly measure for pushrods.

I'll see what my room looks like once I've set the engine in. Thanks I'll check out the video from MMX.

Edit: Good video, just got done watching it.

On the jeep, it’s a lot easier just to pull the fenders.

This is the MMX website.

Edit: if you could run the dual runner truck intake on a 03-08 engine without having to change out the accessory drive I'd do it since MMX has the stand alone module for the intake.
