Genright or Motobilt highline fenders?

Their whole answer was a non answer. They met have well said, “Trust us, we know what we’re doing, no further questions”
Come to think of it, it sounds a lot like the answers given by bender when he was active for a short time

That is a better response than a thumbs down when a positive spin can't validate the smokescreen. 😉

I have the Genright. No complaints. I didn't really know about the motobilt when I got them, so didn't compare the two. I started with 4" non hi line front and rear and had those for a few years. Then decided I wanted hi lines, and did the front only figuring the 4" would match the rear flares I already had.

I'm pretty sure those weren't an option when we did yours.

Does a thousand bucks seem a little high for a set of fenders to anyone else ?? Just asking for a friend.

Yes and no. It seems high until you see how much work they do to get the top edge and side seams blended in and looking very nice. Lots of hand work there that is easy to screw up. This is the Crawltek I am referring to since they are the same price.

Having just gone through the process of installing (and building) highlines, the cost of the fenders is going to be less than half of the project and only a small portion of the actual work of getting them installed.

I am somewhat appalled at the complete lack of any intuition whatsoever as to what you expected them to say.

Not really. You guys are the ones who taught me to ask questions I pretty much know the answer to.

Seriously, what the fuck did you expect them to say? That and there is nothing we can say or extrapolate one way or the other as to whether or not the fender is or is not sound. If we say it will crack, 10 shitheads whose rigs haven't left their driveway since the fenders went on will jump in with pics that show theirs are perfect. If we say they are good to go, someone will post up something bad just to prove everyone wrong. For someone who has been on the internet as long as you have, you sure forget how this works pretty easily.

I posted up their answer to discuss the off chance that their processes are a valid solution against cracking.

Which one didn't you like?

You asked a question you knew the answer to and didn't like the response, correct?

The socratic question was posed to Motobilt, not you.

The question posed here was to get some clarity on Motobilt’s response, from people more knowledgeable on welding processes than you or I am.

The dislike was because there was no reason for the sass about Savvy’s “intention to distract from their designs”.

You know full well that I will like your posts when they bring valuable insight to the discussion, and dislike when they distract the discussion. You have equal power to do the same to me, so no need to get butthurt.

Savvy is doing the same thing, therefore it is a relevant comparison. That is separate from the problem of me only being able to guess at the reasoning for why you might disagree with a relevant comparison.
