Yes it acts as sort of a “power hub” if you will. I don’t know the why but when I was doing some work to my dash and had it removed, none of my interior dash lights worked.

I had a problem with my Jeep where I had no power to the dash or any interior lights (HVAC / radio) and it was a corroded wire from the fuse box under the hood to the dash. I believe it was a pink wire.

If the new gague cluster doesn’t resolve that issue.

Thank God I have power to my radio I just got done swapping my deck in there.
