After 32 years in the Lone Star state, we have moved to beautiful Georgia to be closer to family. Really looking forward to four seasons! My 18 yr old LJR pulled a 5k lb uhaul with no issues. Kept it right around 60 mph; else I would have stopped at every other gas station. I-10 to Slidell, I-65 to Montgomery, I-85 to Atlanta, I-285 to I-75N. First day was 12 hrs driving - couple of accident and construction delays; second day was only 10 hrs. Glad to be here!

Midnight train might had been faster with our traffic. Let us know when you’re ready to hit the trails.

Have not settled yet; staying in Marietta for now.
Yes, south TX has 2 seasons: summer and everything else. Summer is 9 to 10 months long.
Looking forward to visiting the mountains, We only had hills in TX.
Traffic was heavy, but kept moving for the most part.
I have to unload the trailer, find and buy a house, unpack tools, move in. I will let you know!

do yourself a favor and get as far away from Atlanta as you can afford ! And if you unhitch that trailer and leave it behind while you're house shopping you better weld it to the ground or it wont be there when you get back....

The trailer will be empty and back at uhaul today.

I agree re Atlanta. I spent 6 mos here in 1998 and could not believe the traffic then. I would like to be about an hour north of Marietta. Prices are a little crazy. I saw a mobile home on blocks for $400k.

You could look west of Atlanta also. Tallapoosa, Bremen area. Or NW Georgia Summerville area.
