just wondering what grab handles are most effective, (if any) or just a useless prop.
I currently have the nylon grab handles that attach middle ways of the door on the factory roll bar.
I like the idea of the solid steel grab bars that attach between the windshield frame and the roll bar.
I surly don't want to spend money for something i won't use.

We have these ones:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015440O34/?tag=wranglerorg-20

We love those things, they make getting in and out so much easier, don't obstruct the view while driving, and they're sturdy as hell. That is probably the most well known brand. They're made in the USA as well.

They also much them for much cheaper from copy cat Chinese brands such as these ones:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY8ULXV/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Those may be cheaper, but they have really good reviews, and I hear from people running them that they work just as well as the expensive ones we have. I just like to support the whole "Made in the USA" thing when possible.

I was just looking at these!! Made in USA sold me, too. Black ones on the way. I'm beginning to realize what I feared when I signed up....you guys have way too many cool gadgets and accessories listed in these threads. I'm going to need an intervention once I get my sound system upgrade and lift-indecision tackled.

GraBars here. Had them in 3 Wranglers, and will never have one without them. They are very stout, and worlds apart from the nylon dangly type. I do have those, too, but just for a place to grab when resting my arm on the open window sill. I considered the Synergy type, but did not want to do the modifications needed to the roll bar cover and A-pillar trim.

Might be getting some of those GraBars then - the nylon ones that the PO had on mine, the drivers side one tore, so I need some new ones.

The Jeep came to me with a pair of Master Craft nylon handles above the door. They have worked well for the last 5 years. About a month ago, I installed a set of GraBars. They are very solid and it is nice to have a handle on that spot. I use both now that I have options.

Went to jump into the passanger side of a friend's jeep using the nylon ones. Well it ripped off both sides just as I jumped and pulled. Hopped around with one leg in the jeep for a second but since she had soft doors I couldn't use them to stay up. Turned and dove for the ground, brused both knees really badly. If she hadn't just gotten a cage that has em built in I know what I'd be getting her for Christmas.

There must have been a time
when we could have said no.
