H&R Sport Springs

Again thank you. Did you have to add any spacers or bumpstops ? Wanting to make sure I get everything together so I can make it a weekend swap. My Jeep has a 4” skyjacker lift on it currently. I am wanting to go back to pretty much stock and 31” tires.

At the time I replaced my Jounce Cups: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZCDBQ3/?tag=wranglerorg-20

and my Jounce Bumpers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CGUHUU/?tag=wranglerorg-20

But you may not have to do those...it would not be typical to have to add bump stops or add any spacers. Though I am considering now adding some 0.75" spacers for a touch more clearance.

After cycling my suspension, I ended up needing about a 3/4” spacer in the front that I put on the lower spring perch.

I just bought this below and cut it to the thickness I needed on my band saw.

Mine were blue as well, I did add a 3/4" spacer in the rear to level out the factory rake.
What type of spacer did you use ? I have a dirt works rear bumper ,tire carrier , also has a rack and carries 2 5 gallon Jerry cans. I have a lot of weight on the back.
I plan adding a winch to the front with a stock bumper.

Just in case anyone is interested in a set of the 52107 H&R springs - I have a set for sale. They have not been used - but I decided against using them and cannot return them for refund. I've listed it in the classifieds on this forum. Thanks.

If this is still true, let me know! I'm probably way too late.

Hey, anyone get any 'rake' with these H&R springs? Or do they life pretty evenly?

Edit: @StG58 reports some substantial rake using the H&R Sport springs on his SE (see here).

Old thread here but wanted to ask the guys who are running H&R springs are you running 31's with no body lift or possibly 32's ?? I ask because I am currently installing these springs in my 1998 TJ still have had originals factory springs all this time and yes it was unsafe these last 3-4 years to drive it out the neigbor hood. It seems like I have so much dang lift with them granted I have not put the fuel tank back in as I am waiting for the 3/16" skid plate to get powder coated and the heavy rear 3/16" bumper isn't installed either. I'm blown away how much lift it is. Its got a 1" body lift I installed many years ago which will be getting removed and thrown on the shelf. This jeep is a soft top so that to maybe why it seems like I have so much lift? I seriously wonder if 32's would fit? I prefer to stick with 31's because of gearing. Will these springs settle after a bit? Thanks

I am a little late to the game here but I can help you with this one Chris. I am currently running a H&R setup with budget boost spacers and 32 inch tires. Everything works fine with Budget Boost build. If you need photos, just let me know.

Thanks I’ve added the springs already an about to build this dana 44 an re gear to 4.11 gears. Now the budget boost do mean like a 1 “ spring spacer on top
of the h&r springs? Did you keep the same drive shaft or added a sye? A picture would be great. Thanks

Correct, but I used a 2 inch in the front and 1 inch in the back to give a leveled appearance. I did not have to use a SYE. May I ask who is doing the re gearing? Currently looking locally.

First of all a big thanks to @StG58 for starting this thread and everyone else in thread for researching H&R coils and putting it in use for all of us to learn from it.

My bone stock TJ has travelled less than 40k miles, but it has developed a sag at the front on the almost 20 year old stock springs. Hence suspension refresh is the call of order. I have already bought Bilstein 5100 (0-“2” shocks) and strongly debating H&R vs Moog coil springs. Goal is it to stay stock or near stock height. I don’t Off-road or even dream about it apart form very occasionally travelling on light gravel roads to admire scenic beauty of New Zealand.

My TJ is 2004 (4.0L Auto) Factory soft top with half doors. at the moment it’s on stock 15x6 steel wheels with Bridgestone Dueler 9R15 tyres which are a odd ball in North America but they measure 30x10.50R15 (Not 30x9.50R15). No winch and or extra weight added all the bumpers are stock.

Few questions -

1) What is better for my needs?
2) With H&R set up would I need new longer bump stops?
3) Anything else I should order that is a must change while replacing springs and shocks?

Also any other suggestions on I should consider?

Thanks in advance
