Has anyone put a new radio in their TJ?

Hello!
Many recommend here to buy at Crutchfield but unfortunately they do not deliver to Europe. Do you know any alternative to purchase radio systems in the EU?
TIA!

I purchased my double din deck from a stereo shop on Ebay. I bought my speakers from an on-line group in the UK (Crutchfield didn't carry them) and I bought installation parts from Crutchfield.

With initial cost, shipping and tax savings it was over $150 cheaper overall. I got the same install instructions harness and double din kit as well.

Crutchfield is great and I've sole sourced them many times with car and home stereos and loved it. I went another route this time (COVID delays was also a factor) and it was just fine.

Sonic which is very similar to Crutchfield does ship internationally.

You can get your lunch there too. ;)

Great! Thanks for the answer!
Be careful: US radios do not work in the UK due to different VHF tuning steps. This is probably also true in Spain.

Some models can have this set in software, in which case you can set it to EU settings; or you may be able to buy all the other parts (bezels, cables etc.) then buy an EU spec radio locally.

Hola! Are you looking for a new head unit or a complete system? There are a bunch of car audio shops in Europe and unlike Jeep parts, we are able to get some of these stuff cheaper than in US. For example Focal products, look at the price difference on these speakers:

Yes. I had heard (pun intended) a lot of good things about BLAM speakers. In the use these run around $300 for the 5.25's and up to $400 for the 6.5's. I was able to buy them and have them shipped from the UK to Arizona for about $180 for both pairs back in May of last year. The prices have gone up a little but still a ton cheaper than the US dealers.

These guys delivered during COVID's height in about 14 days. I'm sure they can do the same in Spain.

Grüezi!! 🇨🇭

I am just looking for the head unit. To be more specific I am looking for a unit with Apple Carplay connection. I am not very worried about the unit itself; as you say, there are many car shops (thanks for the link, BTW). What I don't find easily here in Europe is the dash kit for the Double-DIN integration, like this one: Dash Kit.

Anyway, I will keep looking. Comments and suggestion are always welcomed!

You can get it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KTD83X5/?tag=wranglerorg-20
EDIT, for some reason, the Amazon link doesn't seem to work but I found it after searching for the part nr on google. ( Metra 95-6549 )

I considered doing this but as the panel would cost the same price than a good head unit after shipping and tax, I decided it wasn't worth it.

There is a head unit from Joying that seem to fit pretty well in front of the stock dash panel and may also fit behind as you can see in posts #62 and 65 in this thread: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/show-me-your-head-unit.37853/page-4#post-807641

I was going to buy one of these but I read mixed reviews about the sound quality so I decided to go another route as I'm going to use good speakers and amplifiers but my Jeep has more important problems at the moment. It may suit your needs though and has carplay, you can find it here if you're interested: https://www.joyingauto.eu/single-din-car-radio/8-8-single-din.html

That's something really useful to consider. Great info. Thanks!

i would suggest going to Amazon and look at the 2 din center bezel conversion kit for Jeep Wrangler. Not expensive and opens up the selection by a factor of 100.

Indeed. I have one that I’d be happy to sell you.

How do you like them BLAM speakers? Trying to decide if they're overrated or if I should just buy some.

Well.... first consider the acoustic platform you're putting them in.... :ROFLMAO:

Second make sure you have enough amplifier for them.

I replaced factory in a car with a new deck with Hertz and I have BLAM in the TJ. I'd say that I get equal quality out of both of them. My guess is if I had them switched I'd find the BLAM's a better speaker but the TJ's speaker location make it difficult for true high fidelity.

I got both pair (5.25 and 6.5) for under $180 while I paid about $150 for 4 6.5 Hertz for the car. In either case make sure you match them with a good head unit or separate amp.
