Both business and holiday. I flew into Auckland, spent two days then flew to Nelson. Rented a camper van and drove the southern alps to Arthur's Pass, Christchurch, Queenstown, Milford Sound and back to Nelson area, ferry with van to Wellington, Rotorua, then north along the coast to the Bay of Islands then back to Auckland. Flew to Sydney for a business meeting then back to the USA. Best trip of my life.

wow now that sir is a trip...looks like you saw all the best bits haha... Nelson Able Tasman is stunning down there.Queenstown is like a mini Aspen haha.North Island and South island even though same country completely different scenery.

Hey! New owner here. 97 TJ Sahara in white. Auckland based. Spend tons of time up and down the beaches but aiming for the hills as I build this rig further.

Currently very stock with ugly aftermarket wheels. Might start a build thread as I empty my bank account into my new overlanding rig.

Anyways. If anyone wants to go wheeling around NZ. hit me up... Keen beans...

Thanks man. I'm on the Shore. So not tooo far away.
Got the TJ in haste just days before Christmas. One shakedown trip to the beach later and we were packed to the roof for a new year trip round the Coromandel.

You manage to get out in the jeep much over summer?

I have a couple of mate on the Shore in Glenfield...used to live there many moons ago as well.
Did I read right that you got your TJ from Haast in the south island ????

Yes I'm always in my Jeep as much as I can lol...you need to get those doors off before summer goes away..lol Its a great feeling top off doors off.

Nar as in a snap decision a week before xmas...
Not much in Haast... but I toured the SI in my outback and itching to do it in the tj now!

I have done a couple of trips sans roof n doors. Have a bowless softtop on the way atm so will be doing plenty more topless trips in the future!

I did the South Island when I was in my 20's my folks live in Shakey town (Chch) so always a great place to stay....
Lucky I have a factory soft top. but the bowless would be great especially with the changeable weather we have here....case in point today!! haha

No no, bought it locally. It was a new import from Japan. Decent condition had not been offloaded. That will change...
Cannot wait for the top to arrive!
