Hi All! Just picked up a 2000 Wrangler SE 2.5L w/auto to tinker around with. While fixing a valve cover leak I found a hose just hanging out by the coil. Was hoping someone could help identify it and tell me where its supposed to go! It looks like it runs back out to the tranny somewhere? See attached pic...hopefully its good enough, otherwise I can take others.

Thanks in advance! I'm finding all kinds of fun little projects to do to this thing!

Thanks guys. Kind of what I was thinking but not sure. I guess I'll just zip tie it up for now.

Edit: Looks like it is the transfer case breather. Zip ties to the rescue.

Thanks for the help!

Looks like the cap is broken off the top which could allow contaminates in. I would replace the breather and reattach it to the bell housing bolt where the factory had it.

Actually, it looks like it might be ok. I found a replacement hose/breather on ebay and it looks the same. Now I just need to clean it up and re-mount it in the correct spot.
