Help me solve a problem of how to rotate my chicken coop 180 degrees

Kinetic rope and a bottle of beer...

Neighbor's tractor doesn't need forks...just use rachet straps or endless loops or whatever rigging stuff you have sans chains to attach it to a bucket... assuming the bucket can go higher than the roof and said tractor can lift the weight.

Jack it up and put sticks of EMT under it, or any available pipe. Then as you and your helpers rotate it you will need to re-insert the pipes as they slide out. I moved a hot tub like that. If the concrete is really rough you might have trouble, bigger diameter pipe will help though. It will slide and roll on the pipes.

Wow. Its been a very long time since I rented them. Generally the companies I worked for owned them.

Yeah, we've got several places around here that rent heavy duty equipment. The prices are quite high. A back-hoe is $940 for the day.

Go to 1:20 in the video Even though your chicken house is not made of stone so it doesn't have a smooth bottom, this would work with a pipe or 3. No need to raise it up onto dollys that probably will get hung up, just raise it a tiny bit. Once you balance it you should be able to spin it right around.

edit: oops I see srimes beat me to it

Little inspiration:

The part where he spins big rocks balanced on a pebble could work. The center skid may not be stiff enough so you'd need a bigger one. Place a pebble, ball bearing or even a golf ball and it should spin easily.

I did that in my Jeep once balancing and spinning on my TCase skid.

Use(2) 4x8 sheets of plywood under the very center of the coop and attach it to the legs. If you could then use a floor jack to jack both ends up high enough to put a car rim under the center below the plywood you could sorta use it as a center spinner (lazy susan). Since the entire thing would be off the ground sitting on the car rim or a wheel dolly as some have suggested you should be able to rotate it 180 degrees easily. This would also keep you from having to use a tractor or any heavy machinery. As long as you can get both ends jacked up with blocks under it while you slide the car rim or dolly under the center as a pivot point it should work. Its kinda redneck but you work with what you have.

That sounds like a great idea. I was going to suggest a bowling ball but the wheel rim might be more stable.

Option 1: Sheet of 3/4 plywood (or use scraps) cut some pads roughly 2x2 and double them up to 1.5in thick. Jack up and toenail screw these under the 4 corners and the 2 center supports. Then get a couple bags of used golf balls from the driving range or AMZ. Put the golf balls on the concrete, but under your plywood pads. Swivel on your "ball bearings" just keep moving the golf balls from the back to the front as you move.

Option 2: Depending on how rigid the coop is built? Buy Qty 4 - 4x4x8 and lag them to the support just under the floor of the coop. Leave a foot or so sticking out on each end. Using 2 FarmJacks (Hi-Lift) on the 4x4s at the end corners. Jack it up so 1 end is high 6inches or so and push over. Rinse and Repeat. Keep walking it into position and alternate sides.

I've seen golf balls used to move Heavy gun safes , sounds crazy but works surprisingly well.
