Tonight I was installing a new Back-up Lamp Switch (sensor) on a year 2000 TJ with 5spd Manual Transmission. While I was under the Jeep in the same general area as the Back-up Lamp Switch I noticed this free standing plug hanging loose. Please see photos. Any idea what this is and where it needs to go? Sincere thanks!

new to me 🤷‍♂️ free bump. never come across a terminal like that yet

any writing or numbers on it? photos are a little dark to make out what it is.
Yes, there are numbers on it but I couldn't make them out as it was dirty. I'll crawl up un there this weekend, wipe it off and get some light to it and take a better photo.

I was reading somewhere that the wiring harness for the Automatic Transmission, has something like 5 plugs on it, whereas our 5spd Manual only has 3 (the Reverse Back-up Light switch plug, the 4WD and the Speed Sensor) - BUT - that Jeep used the same harness on both models, so in theory there might be 2 plugs hanging free?
