Help: Wiring LED tail lights to export tail lights (combining turn / brake wiring into one)

Hi all,

Tried to search but couldn't find exactly what I was after.

I'm in New Zealand and we have the export type tail lights with the amber turn bulbs. I've just bought a set of sweet Savvy Offroad tail lights and just clicked that the turn signal and brake wire are one (in the export light they are two separate wires).

Am I correct in saying I need to buy a wiring converter for a trailer to convert my two turn/brakes wires into one?

I've found this on from Curt, is that what I need? And just cut off the plug at the end and wire to my tail lights?

I found this on Amazon and a review has someone with a tj that used it to combine the brake and turn wires. Anyone else here use something similar?

Should be a good place to start. You may find you have to add some resistors to get it to work properly even with an LED flasher.

Cool thank you, I’ll grab that kit and figure out the wiring. I got a led flasher with the tail lights so I’ll run that and see how I go
