Here is an odd duck

It's a Mitsubishi J20H, a license-built development of the Willys CJ-3B. Mitsubishi built a bunch of them (more than 30 different models) between 1953 and 1998, from military models to wagons, short- medium- and long-wheelbase, you name it. Just like the Land Rover Defenders it finally fell afoul of stricter occupant safety and environmental protection legislation.

While off roading last weekend I saw a mid 1990s Mitsubishi Jeep. It was also a diesel and had the same body mounted lights front and rear as this one. I think it was a J53(?). The hood was slightly different because it had "JEEP" stamped on one side and "WILLYS" stamped on the other side. The windshield frame, the doors and the diesel tank filler cap on it looked more like an M38 with FJ fenders.
