Thanks! I'm really impressed with the wealth of knowledge and helpfulness of everyone so far!Welcome from Vancouver, Wa.
Did a 10 day drive tour there, started in Shannon and went south through Dingle. I don't remember seeing any wranglers there at all.
You will get great advice here on what to look for and what to avoid.
Take your time, you'll be glad you did in the long run.
When do you plan to come across ?Thanks! I'm really impressed with the wealth of knowledge and helpfulness of everyone so far!
Oh that's beautiful countryside, its been a while since I've been down Dingle way - I think a return is on the cards
Yeah, JKs and LJs are becoming a little more common but TJs are hen's teeth. If this one here doesn't work theres a specialist in the UK who imports from Japan so I have a few to choose from!
Oh I'm not moving out your direction! I'm emigrating to Malta (hence the username) and believe me TJs are even more rare there - I might end up having the only one on the island!!When do you plan to come across ?
As far as a TJ, it might pay to wait until you get here.
Thanks buddy, Been a mechanic for 18 years now so I'm no stranger to the underside of a car! I've never wrenched on anything american though, so I'll definitely be looking for advice from the experts!Welcome Derek, There are a lot of people on here, that will help answer questions for you. One tip I have is not to be afraid to crawl under the jeep to have a look. And post up pics. when you find one..
No no, I'm emigrating to Malta, off the southern coast of ItalyWelcome to the forum!
So you're going to be immigrating from Ireland and then buying a TJ once you get stateside? Well, the good news is that there is plenty of them.
Any idea where you'll be living in the U.S.?

What is it that sold you on TJ given their scarcity in your parts?Oh I'm not moving out your direction! I'm emigrating to Malta (hence the username) and believe me TJs are even more rare there - I might end up having the only one on the island!!
That's so incredibly Irish hahaYes, Swineford. My Grandfather's family farm is a big part of the Knock Airport now. I visited the property my first time to Ireland. Short story, my Grandfather was on the boat to America. He was destined for Boston but guys he met on the boat convinced him to go to Philadelphia. If he didn't like it they would put him on the train to Boston. He married the guys sister and stayed.
