Holy Cross City

One of the better trails Ive been on to date. An old mining town at 14+k feet. In addition to the history, it has incredible scenery and technical rock crawling. Online sources rate the trail from a 7-10. IIRC it took us 5 hours to run the 4 mile long trail. If you ever find yourself in Leadville, CO with a capable rig this is one trail I would highly recommend.

With a raised skid and lockers, maybe. You'll really want a winch. I hope to be giving Holy Cross a try with mine this summer. I expect it to be a challenge.

No opinion expressed here, but I just had to chuckle at the reaction some would have to the bottom-left of the list of "Proper Equipment". I can almost hear the grumbling from several states away!

Bushducks trail report shows closed by snow. I wonder if those pics are this year. I am in the San Juans right now and
Most high country trail are stll closed. They don’t think some will open with avalanche damage.

I contemplating Crystal Mills tomorrow, but an avalanche is blocking it about a mile past the mill. It seems if it isn’t an avalanche a river is washing out the road. What are we to do

Holy Cross is open to the City. I had a few friends tackle it last weekend. French Creek is flowing high and fast it looks like.
