Host F550 4X4 Motorhome Quad Slide 330

DAMN I must be a glutton for punishment.

I just bought a 2008 Host motorhome which is a Ford F550 4x4 cab & chassis conversion. It has the Ford/International 6.4 Powerstroke engine & 5R110 transmission.
Being a F450/550 it has the wide track Super 60 front axle which allows it to turn tighter and makes it more maneuverable. I'll have to measure the WB for ya all.

It is a Ford Lariat trim on the quad cab chassis with 6 way power heated seats for the front passengers. One of it's main selling points is the added safety for rear seated passengers over other motorhomes.

The dash is pretty stock at this point.

Looking out the rear window. Has a nice sized rear bedroom and tons of storage.

I updated the TV in the main living area to a 50" Smart TV.

On the way home with it.

I've got a list of things I'm going to be fixing on it once the Jeep is finished & running. Most of the initial things will be all the know problems or failure items associated with the 6.4 diesel And then either updating or fixing some interior items.

It has a back up monitor that you can use while in motion by turning on the #1 upfitter switch.

And just for @Zorba I screwed up this video.....

And the front bunk lifts up for a pass thru to the front seating area.

One of the KEWL little added features is a remote controlled search light.

Host is owned by the brothers of the father who used to own & build Beaver Coaches. If you've ever seen a Host camper they are TOP of the Line truck campers.

Way Kool! Congrats. I've been Rving for the past 8 years (since I retired). I had a couple of toyhaulers I pulled with a pickup and now I have a motorhome and tow my Jeep 4 down. RV ownership can be a love/hate thing. It seems like they always need some work. So far I have done all of the work myself. If I need some coaching on the system I'm working on, I find IRV2 is a great forum to look for info. Travel by motorhome is the slowest thing on the road. I normally drive 60-60mph. I started out driving 500 miles per day. That has dropped down to 300 miles per day now. One thing about the RV: the party starts as soon as we leave the driveway. Good luck and safe travels.

If I were better at fabrication...I can imagine a Duramax powered chassis cab that could be grafted on the rear half of the GMC.

They make 4x4 & 2wd motorhomes in single cab now. And you can have your pick of Ram/Ford as the chassis choice. The main issue with the current ones is that they are very poor quality. Since COVID hit the units coming out just have way too many problems. And for what I wanted/needed I want the crew cab so that I have storage for my wheelchair. It can go behind the drivers seat with no issues and then it's not taking up room in the coach or in the storage bins.

Being stuck out some place without a TV on a shitty day or two would get OLD fast. But heck if it's yours and you want to remove them knock yourself out.

That would LOOK great. Kind of like the Air Stream trailers grafted onto a semi.

I enjoy watching TV in bed sometimes. Not all the time but for the times I'd like to it's there. Plus if you remove the TV's if you go to sell it you're gunna need to reinstall them.
